Conroe sets new lawn watering restrictions

The city of Conroe unanimously agreed to restrict when the residents of Conroe can water their lawns:

Addresses ending in odd numbers are allowed to water their yard only on Tuesdays and Fridays and those with even numbers only on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Residents can water their yards from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. only on their respective days.

According to the ordinance, the first violation will be a warning, but a second violation carries a $200 fine, and a third carries a $300 fine. Each violation after that carries a $500 fine.

Council Member Harry Hardman said the restrictions approved by the council are not about water conservation but in response to the city’s lack of infrastructure to serve the growing community. - The city has been wrestling with water concerns as rapid growth has taxed its water and sewer infrastructure.

“This ordinance will affect the people I represent and it pains me to have voted for this item,” Hardman said. “We are all causalities of years of neglect and lack of vision from our former city administrator and we must now pay the price.”

We recently went and tried the new Pincho Burgers and Kebabs location off 242 in Conroe. They have a special deal currently where if you join their free app, you can get a free burger (sign us up!). We tried two different kinds of burgers and approved of their fries for sure! The kebabs and sweet potato tots also look good so we have plans to go back and try them out!
