Montgomery County debates funding for the Highway 242 construction
In May 2022 there was an agreement with the court to handle the construction of the third direct connector from the northbound lanes - The project was estimated to cost $14.9 million but now in 2024, the project is estimated to cost $19.1 million. TxDOT said bidding would begin in August but would be removed from the schedule if they could not get the funds before August 2nd
The Montgomery County Budget Director Amanda Carter said the county has $13.4 million available in tolls and old pass-through funds. The County has plans to pull funding from a variety of funding sources - Some would be commissioner road and bridge funds. The Commissioner Court is scheduled to meet again on June 18th to decide on the funding source. County Judge Mark Keough said he would send a letter to TxDOT stating the county would fund the project and send notice once they decide where the funds would come from.

Citizens Coffee just opened in Conroe next to Wake Church and Oh Toodles. We recently have been going there to enjoy a drink and work. It is a really cool environment and everyone there is really nice. We recommend you stop by to try it out!
